Welcome to Green Valley

The Camp

Green Valley was a popular summer camp for decades. Buried deep in the Blue Hills north of Carthage on Blueberry Mountan, miles from any worried parents, the camp became the summer home for thousands of children and teenagers.

The camp's popularity remained strong well into the 70's. However the dissapearance of seven of the camps work crew in the winter of '76 during routine maintenance led to the following summers program being cancelled, and the camp never recovered. The operating company went bust in '77 over the ensuing lawsuits.

For 10 years the camp has been left to the ravages of time and nature.

The Game

The Green Valley Slasher is a Drunken Monkey LRP Event.

In 1986 the once great director Zayden Hogan gathered a group of aspiring actors and cut-rate crew and headed into the mountains of New England. They were due to make the straight to video feature 'The Green Valley Slasher'. The players will take on the roles of Zaydens's cast and crew as they head back to Green Valley Summer Camp.

IMPORTANT DETAILS

  • Where – Consall Scout Camp. https://www.consallscoutcamp.co.uk/
  • When - 17th-19th November 2023
  • How much – Players Tickets are £80, Crewing is free and Catering will be available for £35
  • Accommodation – Indoor sleeping will be provided in on site dormitories. Camping options will also be available.
  • Costume Etc - Clothing should be appropriate to the weather and time of year, and as far as possible the 80's as a decade. Camera, sound lighting equipment etc. will be provided as part of the game. Players props from walkmans to leg warmers are encouraged. Sensible shoes are required though, its a hilly site in November .. no jelly shoes. Please do not bring weapons with you. Assume your costume will get dirty at some point.
  • Rules – Due to the nature of the event the rules will be significantly lighter than for our main line game. Full rules will be issued along with a revised character sheet in due course. Your characters motivation and background will be as important as any skills they have.
  • Event – The event will be high horror leaning heavily into the tropes of the straight to video horror movies of the 80s – 90s. It is not intended as a comedy though I'm sure will have comedic moments. Elements of body horror, psychological horror and violent imagery are to be expected.
Wherever possible people will be assigned roles they want as both on screen talent and production staff. When we release the rules we will also have sign-up sheet for roles. Appreciate this is late in the year but hopefully the setting and choice of period will allow for a general level of comfort even in November. We need a minimum of 16 players to be viable with a deposit of £40 before the end of October and full payment made before the event. This will be a unique event and will run from 8pm Nov 17th to Late Nov18th with a debrief and late breakfast planned for Sunday. Including the possibility of an awards ceremony for best death, scream etc
